Garage floor tiles can usually be purchased singularly, though, without having to purchase the whole set, making it much easier to obtain multiple features that may not come in one bundle. Here are some of the more popular garage floor tile features that you’ll find in some sets, including why you may or may not care, and the relative cost.
Bump Stops
The purpose of the bump stop is to give you a gentle warning of when to stop your vehicles moving forward. If this seems like a silly idea to you, then, for your purposes, it probably is. This is mostly useful in garages where a full size vehicle barely fits, forcing the homeowner to pull the vehicle up to within inches of the back of the garage to be able to close the garage door. Well, you might be able to find garage floor tiles with logos on them. This obviously will not make the garage more useful, but it does allow you to personalize it a bit. Because they’re not particularly useful, just aesthetically pleasing, logo designs are usually fairly cheap, allowing mostly for licensing fees.
Drainage
This is one of those features that you might not realize you need, even if you do. Lots of sets of garage floor tiles, when assembled, are designed to direct fluids out of the garage. You may think this is only good for those who work on vehicles in their garage, but it’s not that simple. In cold areas, winter sludge will fall from any car and melt, resulting in lots of moisture. Plain old concrete is pretty much unaffected by this since it will just absorb any liquids and, eventually, pass them into the ground below. However, once a garage floor is covered, the covering itself is in danger of becoming damaged from standing liquid. Unfortunately, not all garage floor tile manufacturers take this in to consideration, so, unless your floor has a very obvious slant, make sure your tiles have this feature.

Since there are always new features being though up, be sure to check at least a few different manufacturers out so that you at least know which features exist before buying tiles that may lack something you can actually use.
The Price
When it comes to garage flooring, tiles aren’t the cheapest option around. If you want cheap, you should be looking at epoxy garage floor paint. However, if you know that you want tiles, you should know that interlocking garage floor tiles are generally more expensive than peel and stick. For that additional price, you get versatility, and the ability to pick them up and move them around should the need arise.
