Build Your Office At Home Using The Following Principles

More and more of us are turning spare rooms into home office. When planning this change, ensure that you make it as comfortable as possible. Here are a few tips.

The most important piece of furniture is as large a desk as you can get to ensure that you have plenty of space for documents etc without them falling off the edge.

We need to want to work at home so having the right desk is vital. Storage is vital for documents and stationary, and a large enough desk top to enable you to multitask as well as there being enough space for your computer etc.

Ergonomically designed office chairs have two major functions; they are both comfortable and provide vital back support. This is very important when you sitting in the same chair for a long time.

While comfort is important, you don’t want it so comfortable that you just want to snuggle into it and close your eyes. A good chair equals a good performance; you will be at peak performance and get through your work rate no problem.

Walk in to any office and what you see? rows and rows of desks with laptops? no, PCs. These are simply better for professional usage thanks to the increased memory and larger screen. Laptops are great and I have one myself, but when sat at my desk, with a stack of work to get through, a PC will my first choice every time.

All the above have obvious pluses, and so too do plant life and mini fridges, and I’ll explain why.

The fridge is essential to hold drinks that you will undoubtedly need throughout the day. Not having to leave your office and go through your home for a drink keeps your mind focused on work. A few living plant bring a bit of life and color to an office, as well as putting oxygen into the air.
